In 2006, my husband and I went to France for three weeks. It was our delayed honeymoon. We spent a week in Paris, then took the TGV train to Provence for another week of exploration. Van Gogh fell in love with Provence for its quality of light. For a watercolor artist it is a perfect place to paint. The lavender fields invite capture and delighted artists accommodate them. You can practically smell the lavender in this painting. The misty mountains in the background are a perfect backdrop for the luscious lavender. This art is framed.
